Players who sign up themselves

A new player can join your campaign without an account in Nextcloud. They sign up in the portal, make their own player profile, and then create their characters there. Game masters see every new player on one list and mark them reviewed.

What the player does

  1. The player signs up and signs in to the portal. The portal handles the account, the password and the activation mail.
  2. They choose Create your player profile and fill in their name and a short description, such as the kind of character they like to play.
  3. Their profile shows under My profile.
  4. From then on they can create characters with Create a character. Each character they create is played by them and shows under My characters.

One portal account has one player profile. A second attempt, such as a double click, is refused with a message.

What the game master does

  1. Open Characters in the menu and choose New players.
  2. The list shows every player who signed up through the portal and is not reviewed yet.
  3. Select one or more players and choose Mark reviewed.
  4. They leave the list. Their player page shows who reviewed them and when.

Only game masters can mark players reviewed.

Good to know

  • A player with a profile but no link to their portal account sees no characters and cannot create one. This happens when the portal cannot record the link. A game master can still see the player on the New players list.
  • A person with both a portal account and a Nextcloud account can end up with two player records. Game masters merge them by hand.
  • Players who want the full Larpinq pages in Nextcloud still get an account from an administrator.
