Event tickets and options

A LARP weekend is not one price. Players pay more than crew, NPCs often pay nothing, early sign-ups pay less, and catering is a choice with its own price. Larpinq lets a game master set that up per event, and lets a player choose on their registration. Larpinq records what was chosen at the listed price; the amount to pay and the payment are handled by shillinq.

Set up tickets for an event

  1. Open Ticket types and add one per kind of participant: a name, a role (player, crew, NPC or other) and the listed price in cents. A price of 0 is a free ticket.
  2. For an early bird price, give a ticket type an On sale until moment and add a second ticket type at the normal price. After that moment only the second one is offered.
  3. Give a ticket type Places when only so many people can have it, such as 20 crew places. A sign-up beyond that goes on the waiting list, even when the event itself has room.
  4. Switch on Only with a code for a ticket type you hand out yourself, and make an Access code that unlocks it, with an optional valid window and number of uses.
  5. Open Registration options to add extras such as Full catering, vegan. An option with Places is refused once it is full.

The event page lists its ticket types, options and codes.

Choose tickets as a player

On your registration, open the Tickets tab. Pick a ticket type and any options, and type a code if you have one and press Use code to see the tickets it unlocks. Press Save choices.

Larpinq checks every choice when you save: the ticket type must be on sale, a hidden ticket type needs a valid code, and a full option is refused with a message. The price shown is the listed price at the moment you choose. When a game master changes a price later, your choice keeps its price.

See what people chose

Game masters open the Choices tab on the event. It counts the accepted registrations per ticket type and per option, so the kitchen knows how many vegan meals to cook. It shows counts only, never a money total.
